Happy Monday everyone! I really hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving filled with good food, loved ones and memories. I know I sure did (: Thanksgiving Day for Hubby and I is...well...filling. Every year, his family eats dinner around 2, and my family eats around 6. So we eat with them, recover a little, then head to my parents house and eat again! This year my best friend Jordan was able to join us. I think he enjoyed it, as he fell asleep pretty quickly after! Hubby watched football with my dad and an old family friend that comes over to eat with us every year. The day after I got to go see more family! I saw my Nonnie (my mom's mom) and also my aunt that now lives in Idaho, as she was in town. The next time I see her, I will be hauling around an infant! ♥
A few updates on what's coming up for this family: my birthday is on the 13th, Hubby said he'd take me to see The Hobbit 2!!! I'm really excited about it!!! Also, my due date is rapidly approaching. We're expecting our first son Leo on Christmas Eve. Everyone keeps telling me he is going to come early. To be honest I'm kind of ready for this all to be over! I just want to meet my son and take care of him. I also want my body back! He's measuring a little big, and oh man am I getting uncomfortable as all hell!!! They always tell you that pregnancy is uncomfortable, but you really don't anticipate how really taxing it is on your mind and body. So many feelings, emotions, and sensations good and bad. Many times all at once!
My final bit of weekly happenings, I did my very first Christmas photoshoot today!!! My friend wanted pictures of her 3 month old daughter, and I must say they turned out absolutely FABULOUS! I had a lot of fun working with her and her little girl. I was happy to get that experience and I hope for many more opportunities like this. Here are just a few of the shots from today.
Isn't she just adorable???
Well I hope you guys have a great week, get geared up for Christmas! Can't believe it's already that time. I'll check back in next week, don't miss me too much ;)
Being a new wife and new mom, life gets a little crazy! I'll be sharing life's unexpected lessons and live-and-learn moments with you, and welcome you to share yours here as well. Follow along as we juggle life's curve balls, and attempt to create a happy life for our family♥

Suzy Homemaker♥
Hello all! It's almost Friday, can you all hang in there for one more day??? It's pretty chilly here in the Pacific Northwest, we had our first real good freeze last night. My windshield was frozen and my extremities were impossibly cold at the cruel hour of 3am...which happens to be the time I head off for work! But I powered through, and got home just before 9am.
I decided to spend some time outside with the Fur-Baby today, getting a few pretty pictures of the frost before the afternoon sun melted it all away
.
After accomplishing that successfully, I got a hankering for some home made brownies. So guess what??? I made THAT happen (: This is my first time making them from scratch, and they smell amazing!!! Can't wait to sample them! My secret ingredient? Chili Powder! Just a dash and it gives it a nice spice that compliments the chocolate well.
.
Of course, I do not recommend leaving a dish towel on your unused back burner... it's a terrible habit of mine that my Grandma would sure scold me for. I definitely enjoy baking, and this was a really fun recipe to try! I even added my own little spin on things.
After all the laundry and cleaning and baby prepping I've been doing the past couple weeks, I am feeling like quite the Susy Homemaker. I love every second of it♥
I hope you all have a great rest of your week and weekend, let me know if you would like my recipe! Don't forget that next week is Thanksgiving... are you ready?

Baby Madness!
Hello all!!! You have to forgive my inconsistency....let's blame it on "mommy brain". :)
A little bit of an update on my life as of now: I am 33 weeks and 2 days pregnant, going on the home stretch! Time is flying by. It seems as if every time I leave my house to visit a friend or family member, I come home with MORE baby stuff!!! It's everywhere! It's all so tiny, but somehow manages to take up soooo much space! The "nesting" stage is in full swing. All Leo's clothes are washed and organized, his bassinet is all set up and all the little last minute stuff is being acquired. The rest of the house is also benefiting from my super duper cleaning powers. My room has been spotless for a week and a half and my bathroom and kitchen is usually sparkling, cabinets and closets organized to a T!
Aside from all of that, last week was my baby shower! It was really great. Full of family and friends and we all had a great time! Even the men that showed up had a good time. I'm so thankful that my son is so loved and blessed by all the awesome people that will surround him! We did not do the traditional games that most people (including myself!) feel awkward doing. We just stuck with good socialization, along with yummy food and upbeat music. Also, we created some activities that people could choose to do if they wanted. For example, there was a "photobooth" where we had props (paper top hats, mustaches, glasses, etc.) to pose with and take silly pictures. There was a onesie signing station, which we are using the onesie as wall decor for the little man. Last, we had a "Birthday Wish Box". I made a few index cards numbered 1-18 for people to fill out with advice and birthday wishes for Leo to read each year on his special day! After choosing and age and writing their advice, they put their card in the birthday box! It was really fun and the cards were really fun to read after. :)
Well, Thanksgiving is just around the corner. A couple posts back, I had planned to try out a new recipe that I will make for Thanksgiving dinner, or dessert. Something I've never made before. I later decided that it was better to wait a bit, until Thanksgiving was a bit closer. So maybe that will be next week's (give or take a few days :P) topic. If you have any suggestions please feel free to comment below! I would love to hear them.
I hope everyone has a fantastic week! I don't know where you all are, but here in Western Washington it's windy, rainy, and definitely approaching winter. So stay warm and dry and in honor of the upcoming holidays, remember what you are thankful for and cherish this time with your loved ones!

Fancy Pictures ♥
Oops! Looks like I'm a few days late, again! It happens, I suppose! However, like I promised in my last post, I did a little photo shoot along the river! It was a perfect foggy day with the sun trying to show its face. ☺
I am 31 weeks tomorrow! My mom and I picked up Leo's bassinet today, and Hubby and I got it situated in our room. Now to decorate! I'm excited for that part. Pretty sure I am in full swing "nesting" mode... getting everything cleaned, washed, organized and ready for him to be here!
I've definitely had a good lesson in making a lot of stuff fit into not a whole lot of room. So, if anyone needs any handy tips, you know who to call! ;)
Well, I think I will get back to my laundry that never ends. I hope you all have a good week! Next Friday's post (I should set a reminder so I don't forget?) I'm thinking will be about recipes I want to use for Thanksgiving/Christmas. If you have any recipes you love, please share! I would love to try them.
Here are my fabulous photos from the day's walk. Hope you like them! Have a GREAT week ☺☻☺

Long Time, No See!
Hello! First and foremost, my apologies for being M.I.A for so long! Life got a little crazy, but at least for the moment I think we are back on a smooth track. I am so thankful for some peace for my growing family, and keeping stress levels at a minimum.
Okay, okay...since I know you are all just dying for the scoop on what has been going on with me ( :P ), so allow me to fill you in!
I am now 29 weeks (7 1/2 months) pregnant with our first baby, Leo. Starting to get pretty uncomfortable, and my body is doing some MAJOR changing! Yet it is all more than worth it, because it means our little punkin is getting bigger and stronger each day. I can attest to that, between the extra weight on my bladder and the rolling around in my tummy that wakes me from a dead sleep!
My mom and sister have been planning my baby shower that is at the end of this month. Got my registry (somewhat) organized...it's a good thing that those who know and love me understand how I lack certain skills such as organization! Haha☺We have carseats, a bassinet, and more clothes than I know what to do with. Now all that's left is....a place of our own! May have to get creative with small crowded spaces, at least for a few months. Like I said earlier: life just gets a little crazy...oh, and timing can really SUCK!
We are fully into the fall season now, which is my favorite season! I'm sure I mentioned that, at least 3 times :P Between that and our upcoming addition to the family, Hubby and I made the decision today to get a new camera that takes good photos! My mission is to learn how to use it. I've officially made reading how to blogs and watching Youtube tutorials a part time job!
This week I plan to have mini portfolio to share with you all next Friday! I'll leave you with a picture of our growing boy, it can mark the first experimental photo(: Have a good week everyone!

Okay, Warm Enough!!!
Hello! One more week down, bringing me closer to a few things I'm really excited about...Hubby & I will be celebrating our 1st anniversary on the 26th! What a year it has been, full of extreme highs, lows and everything in between! Also (of course) the birth of our baby boy Leo, who I am itching with excitement to meet! Finally, the thing that's been on my mind quite a bit...COOLER WEATHER!!!
Don't get me wrong, I do love summer. Lake days, BBQ, camping, and more hours of daylight. However I can honestly say that fall is hands down my favorite time of year. Pumpkins, beautiful colors of nature, delicious recipes to try out, and Halloween! I'm especially excited for Halloween this year, and am thinking of all sorts of fun ways to dress up my baby bump!
I liked the summer a lot more when I was a kid, usually because it meant no school! A few years back however, I got a heat stroke and ended up in the ER with a few IVs to rehydrate. Ever since then the heat makes me feel a bit off. Hubby's favorite season is winter. He loves the snow. It's kind of a bummer we don't get much where we live, with a few exceptions. One fantastic thing about where we live here in the Pacific Northwest, is that all we have to do is get in the car and drive for an hour and we can be waist deep in snow at the foot of the mountain.
Favorite seasons aside, there is one thing that makes them all so much greater, and that is experiencing them with the love of my life. I'm lucky to have a man that takes care of me well, and in this next year to come, we'll get to experience all the seasons again with our little miracle. I wonder what his favorite will be!

Pets, Baby Bumps and General Chaos!!!
Well, it happened! I officially forgot about my blog last week. Oops! Hopefully I will be forgiven :) A lot has happened since my last post. First and foremost, Hubby and I found out we will be blessed with a baby BOY!!! We couldn't be happier! We are so excited to welcome baby Leo Alexander to this world, and curious as to when he will decide he's ready for this world! Just a reminder, due date is Christmas Eve.
They day we found out was pretty hectic. The ultrasound machine at my doctors went down the day of my appointment, so we had to do a mad scramble to get me in somewhere else! I had a whole mess of family with going me, they were allowed back in the room in groups of two. I asked the tech to wait to reveal the sex until it was my husband and my mom in the room with me. We were surprised to say the least. We all were certain it was a girl. 5 generations of firstborn girls, a lot of us had been tempted to even buy girl clothes we were so certain. It's a good thing we waited though! We are so excited to meet our son.♥
This week has also been a bad one for the animals of the family. It began with my dad and step moms dog having a heart attack on their annual cabin trip. They had hiked to the top of the mountain, and the aging dog just collapsed. My step mom, with 4 young children and two other dogs, could not carry her back to camp. She had to leave her, hike back to the cabin, then drive an hour into town to get to cell service. When she went back the next day to find the dog, she found her at an older couple's campsite patiently waiting. By the next day she was back to her usual happy and playful self. Miracles really do happen!
My mom's cat also had an overnight trip at the vet, from licking his flea medicine. He was acting kind of strange that evening, and by the next morning the poor baby had the tremors, and she took him in immediately. He came back all better, but a little dopey from the meds. He is now back to being his lazy piggy self!
My apologies on forgetting to post last week, it's been kind of a rush of different things pulling me in different directions! I will have another post this Friday, on schedule. You have my word! Until next week...♥

Necessity or Luxury?
Happy Friday once again! Squeezing in a quick post before I head off to work this gloomy morning afternoon. Thank GOD for short days to start the weekend off right, huh?
Speaking of the gloomy weather, does anyone else actually kind of enjoy this foggy and slightly chilly thing we have going on, or is it just me? I love the fall, it's my absolute favorite time of year!!! I love the colors, the deco, the atmosphere, Halloween , the fall recipes, and fall fashion....everything! The only thing I think I can find negative about my favorite season, is the fact that my least favorite season comes right after. I don't cope with the freezing temps of winter!
Anyways, now that I'm done babbling about the weather, on to my blog topic of the day. I do have to be honest, I kind of copied from the local radio station, as one of the topics they covered on their morning talk show got my brain wheels turning. All the things we are convinced we NEED, that are really just luxuries. Some of the things they listed I agreed with, like ipads. I've never actually owned one, but I have a nice smart phone and a laptop that both work just fine. I never really had a need for another "smart" device. Another thing listed was engagement/wedding rings. Now yeah, we know it's not a necessity, that having a ring doesn't make you married. I think most people see a wedding ring as a huge symbol of their marriage. A lot of stress is put on a man to buy the perfect ring to make his woman happy. Society I think plays a big part on the importance of this symbol of a marriage.
I actually lost my wedding ring about 6 months ago... that was a hard one to tell my hubby. I did it anyways though, and really appreciated the way he remained calm and was really cool about it, and didn't make me feel even more terrible. I honestly kind of always had a fear of this happening. I'm terrible with jewelery. The only jewelery I've managed not to lose are all in my jewelery box for safe keeping away from my generally unlucky hands!
I wonder what unique "symbols of marriage" people have? And why? How do you feel about tattoos? Necklaces? Nothing at all? Why do you feel your symbol (or lack of) is important?
Gotta fly, but stay tuned for next week, and keep your fingers crossed that our little gummy bear cooperates on Monday and we find out some gender! Team pink or blue??? Haha♥

Baby Brain!!!
Hello everyone! Congrats to us all for making it through one more week. I don't know about any of you, but it was a really long one for me! I am happy because I have most of the next week off to get my nerves and mind back to neutral.
Today will be a short and sweet, yet no less badass, blog entry. What's on my mind this week? Baby names! We find out on August 5th if we're having a baby boy or baby girl! One week and 3 days♥ Hubby and I think we have our names picked out, but there's been a few people that have brow raised a bit. Of course now they've got me thinking!
We like Leo Alexander (boy) or Alivia Noelle (girl). I'm in love with both, and will probably end up using one no matter what. I just know that my baby is going to have their name forever and I don't want them to hate it, which is always a possibility!
Does anyone have any opinions? Or any of you have children with unusual names, or common names with unusual spelling? What is your take on naming children?
Like I said before, I'm pretty confident in both names and will most likely use them no matter what....it's just a gut feeling! However we are remaining open, and....I'm just plain curious to know what you all think!!!
Thank you all for reading! I've included some random photos from my life and the important people in it, to help you get to know me! See you next week♥♥♥

For Better and for WORSE!
Hello
everyone! It's FRIDAY!!! That means some well earned days
off...some time to pamper myself is much needed for this mommy to be.
Friday also means its blog day, wooooo! I know you all must have been
dying of anticipation, I know
I was! I want to share an experience today that every couple goes
through, as it's been on my mind a lot and I feel the need to focus
on how far we've come!
Do
you all remember the days when you were planning your wedding down to
the last napkin fold? Were you
told at some point by someone that marriage is harder than you
realize? Hubby and I were warned, and if you're anything like me, you
nodded in agreement, but directed your attention back to which color
of invitations to choose. Things were great and the vows you were
planning to exchange with the love of your life needed writing and
rehearsing. You're happy, that's why you're getting married, right?
Next
is (usually) the honeymoon, which you spend in wedded bliss for a few
weeks. Then it happens: you become...married.
The way he snored so cutely before is now making you want to pull
your hair out after the day you had at work. The way you cook lasagna
is not the way his mother made it. Or, maybe something happens. A job
loss, an unexpected expense, stress, a new bad habit, an event beyond
your control. Anything, really, can rock the boat in a marriage, and
it's different for every couple. Although, for most newlyweds (like
Hubby and myself) this usually leads to fighting and a strained
relationship.
When
Hubby and I have our spats (especially the big blowout ones) it
leaves us both sad, exhausted, and too drained to be our best selves. We did
try
to do things right. We went to premarital counseling through a
coworker of Hubby's who was licensed and offered it for free. It was
a great experience, but we didn't face all of our problems, due to
our own lack of dedication. We also stopped going after the wedding.
Mainly because something
happened
within a week of returning home from our honeymoon. An event out of
our control that rocked our marriage. We got too preoccupied with the
problems, and stopped focusing on the best solution. We were stuck on
who’s fault it was and how angry or hurt we were.
It's
been almost a year, and I would love to tell you that we've figured it all
out. That we found out how to stop focusing on the bad in our lives. However, that would be a
lie. I sometimes feel like things have gotten harder in some ways,
especially with a little baby on the way! However,
I'm pleased to tell you that we've come a very, very
long
way. We're learning constantly about trust, communication, honesty and of
course LOVE.
We
have (almost) learned to eliminate the yelling, because when we
yell at each other, nobody is really getting heard. Most importantly we found that the best way to tackle our problems is to do it
together. Splitting up to try and tackle the same problem in a
marriage is like trying to catch the same fish with two separate
poles.
I
know that the fights won't ever stop completely, but our goal is to
be able to do it in a way that will produce positive results and
build a stronger marriage, not take our energy and break down the
love we have for one another. No matter what happens, those vows mean
something. For better AND
for
worse, the good times and the bad....'til death do us part! ♥♥♥

It All Starts Somewhere.
As my first post in my most fabulous blog (okay, so it's my only blog), I will keep it short and sweet, and introductory. I will aim to add new posts every Friday. Please feel free to comment or contact me with your own stories, experiences, content you wish to see or see more of, or just to say hi! As this is my first blog, I would love your feedback and advice as I go along.
To give you a rundown of myself, my name is Lexi, and I am 23. I am married to my best friend (not to sound cliche`, but he really is!), his name is Tyler and the end of August will mark our one year anniversary. We are expecting our first baby, due on Christmas Eve, of all days!!! That would put me at just over 16 weeks, and we find out the sex of our baby on August 5th! I have a feeling that as much as marriage was not at ALL what either hubby or myself were expecting, being a parent will be no different.
Here's a few pictures I have to share with you that I absolutely LOVE♥

Tyler and I on our honeymoon in Oceanside, OR
Taken within days of him proposing...!

Our little gummy bear, at 7 weeks♥
Updated picture to come next month!
Now you know a little bit about me, and my family. I will be back next week with my legendary and mind-blowing wit and charm. I think its time to get some quality time in with my husband, not to mention maybe a foot massage...(;
